A Glimpse into SXSWedu 2015

In March, HMH thought leaders headed to Austin, Texas for SXSWedu .The annual four-day conference brings education stakeholders together to connect, collaborate, create and change how we teach and learn. Recordings of the panels in which HMH participated are available below.

 HMH Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President Mary Cullinane joined Mike Hanson, Superintendent of Fresno Unified School District, and Molly Hensley-Clancy, Business of Education reporter at BuzzFeed for “Same Conference, Different Bagel: Can We Change?”. Panelists considered the promises of edtech innovation, and discussed whether its potential has created unrealistic expectations for overnight change around improving student outcomes.

HMH Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President John Dragoon participated in the “Reinventing Industry: Changing Edu’s ‘Big Three’” panel, alongside representatives from Pearson and McGraw-Hill. Panelists discussed how the education industry is evolving and what these changes imply for the future of education and education technology, both within the industry and for the larger learning community of educators, students and families.
