CORE CURRICULUM
Renee Behring is an Education Research Director managing the K–12 core and supplemental English language arts efficacy research at HMH. Renee’s primary areas of focus include Science of Reading policy and implications for practice, knowledge-building in K–12 literacy curriculum, and the importance of high-quality early literacy instruction and assessment. Renee is committed to improving learning opportunities for all students through well-designed curriculum and assessment-based instructional supports.
Prior to joining HMH, Renee worked as a teacher with young children ages 6 weeks to 5 years in various educational settings. In addition, Renee has extensive experience in program evaluation, including conducting student and classroom assessment in public and private early learning centers and home-based programs. Renee holds an Ed.M. in Curriculum and Teaching, Early Childhood Education and an M.A. in Educational Psychology, Human Cognition and Learning from Teachers College, Columbia University, and B.A. in Human Development from California State University East Bay.
