Personalized Path is HMH’s digital supplemental K–8 ELA and math solution that delivers personalized independent instruction through ESSA-rated adaptive lessons, practice, and targeted intervention for students across all achievement levels in one connected experience within the core classroom. Using a student’s precise MAP Growth RIT score, Personalized Path auto-recommends placement into the right learning path based on whether they need foundational skills practice and scaffolding through targeted intervention or grade-level skills and acceleration opportunities through adaptive practice and lessons. Meeting students where they are, Personalized Path pinpoints the instruction each student needs to achieve measurable growth.
Personalized Path uses MAP Growth assessment data to inform student placement into an appropriate learning pathway for each student. Based on a student’s RIT score, Personalized Path recommends placement into adaptive lessons, practice, or targeted intervention aligned to the student’s instructional needs. Teachers can review and adjust recommended placements based on their knowledge of each learner, keeping educator judgment at the center of instructional decisions.
Personalized Path personalizes ELA and math learning by combining MAP Growth-informed placement with adaptive instruction that responds to student performance. Students engage in lessons, practice, and targeted intervention appropriate to their learning needs, while adaptive technology adjusts the experience as they progress. This ongoing personalization helps students receive additional support, grade-level reinforcement, or opportunities to extend their learning.
Personalized Path supports Tier 1 and Tier 2 instruction within an MTSS framework by providing personalized learning across a continuum of grade-level reinforcement, targeted intervention, and enrichment. MAP Growth data helps identify student needs and inform placement, while adaptive learning pathways provide differentiated practice and targeted support. Teachers can use ongoing data to adjust pathways and plan small-group or individual support within their broader MTSS approach.
Personalized Path provides teachers with assessment, usage, progress, and performance data to monitor student learning and inform instructional decisions. Within HMH Ed, teachers can use the Program Activity Report to see what students are working on, monitor time on task and completed assignments, review skill performance, and identify students who may need additional support. Teachers can then adjust learning pathways, assign specific skills, or use the data to inform differentiated instruction.
Personalized Path supports multilingual learners through scaffolded, personalized learning experiences based on their instructional needs. Teachers use assessment and ongoing performance data to identify where additional support is needed and differentiate learning for individual students. This approach provides students with appropriate support as they build ELA and math skills.
Personalized Path is delivered through HMH Ed, HMH’s digital teaching and learning platform, where educators can access assessment, student placement, personalized learning, reporting, and professional learning resources. Educators also have access to HMH AI Tools and HMH Assist, an AI-powered assistant that provides guided prompting and can help generate, adapt, translate, and turn content into resources such as quizzes, lesson plans, emails, and more. These tools support educators with everyday instructional planning and workflows.
Personalized Path provides ongoing professional learning and implementation support that helps teachers build confidence, strengthen instructional practice, and maximize program impact. Through Getting Started support, personalized Teacher Success Pathways, Teacher’s Corner®, Leader’s Corner®, and leader-focused learning opportunities, educators and administrators receive yearlong access to resources to support successful implementation and sustained student success. Additional implementation planning and review support may also be available based on service thresholds to help schools monitor and sustain implementation.
